(Threshold Seven: The Third Eye)

Projection, Dreams and The Intelligence of the Unconscious

We do not see the world as it is. We see it through the lens of our inner world, through the unresolved material, the projections, the unconscious dynamics that have been shaping perception since long before we had any awareness of them.

"We do not see the world as it is. We see it through the lens of everything we have not yet met in ourselves."

What we despise in others. What we long for in others. What we cannot bear to see in ourselves. All of it cast outward, onto the people around us, onto the world itself.

This threshold is the work of learning to see clearly. And to do that, we have to develop a genuine intimacy with the psyche. Not as a concept but as a living presence, communicating constantly through dreams, through the body’s knowing, through synchronicity, through the figures that haunt us and the patterns that keep returning. Jung’s map of the psyche gives us the framework. The dream matrix gives us the practice. Throughout this threshold participants work directly with their dream life, cultivating a relationship with the unconscious that deepens week by week, learning the language the psyche speaks when we are finally quiet enough to listen.

We also return to deepen our awareness of the body, building upon the earlier work, we see the journey of the body in this threshold. We understand of how the psyche holds its deepest imprints in the body, in the nervous system, in the cellular memory, this is a core theme that runs through this work. What the mind has not yet been able to process, the body carries. And when we bring awareness to what the body holds at this level of depth, what surfaces is not just personal. It is ancestral, collective, transpersonal.

This threshold cultivates intuitive knowing as a faculty. Not intuition as a vague feeling but as a precise and trustworthy intelligence, distinct from reactivity, distinct from projection, distinct from the noise of the adapted mind. We learn how to listen to ourselves. Really listen. And in that listening, something fundamental shifts in how we move through the world.

In this threshold we work with:

  • Projection as the primary mechanism of unconscious perception
  • The dream matrix and developing an ongoing relationship with the unconscious
  • Jungian depth work with the shadow, the anima and animus and the Self
  • The body’s deepest imprints and what they carry at a transpersonal level
  • Framework for understanding the psyche’s somatic and collective layers
  • Intuitive knowing as a precise and trustworthy faculty
  • Learning to listen to ourselves beneath the noise of the adapted mind
  • The imaginal dimension and the psyche’s symbolic intelligence
